There are lots of flies for some reason. No Pegleg campers. Coyote Canyon to Desert Garden and a nice stop at my campsite, 84°. Ocotillos are lush. Library at 10:30a to renew my card and use wifi a while. Kippers for lunch at Christmas Circle. Fonts Wash site at 12p for a nice sit in shade before driving home, 91°. Really beautiful day on the desert. Home around 2p, 96°. 182 miles for trip.

Hike tramway to Round Valley via High Trail and then to Tamarack Valley. Was good to be up the tram and on these trails again. I think i'd missed them more than i realized. Happy to see water still flowing in many creeks. The main RV trail could use some work but High trail very enjoyable. Tram in good shape busy but not overly crowded and no wait lines. Around 6 miles taking 2 hours 38 minutes hiking time.

Monday: Depart house 11a, 9090 odo. All campsites vacant at Arroyo Salado. Only one camper at Pegleg. Vietnamese shrimp paste leftovers for lunch at Christmas Circle. Yummy. No more open wifi at Christmas Circle. Coyote Canyon to my campsite. Wild flowers mostly gone but ocotillos are blooming. More vehicles on road than usual. Stop at Fonts Wash site. Nice breeze 95°. Shade is nice. Ella Wash at 4p. 98°. Drive 113 miles today. Park seems very quiet. I guess when the flowers go away the people go away too. Fine with me. Sunset 6:59p, 84°. Can of Chef Boyardee spaghetti and meatballs cold from can for dinner. Not bad. Calm quiet evening. Only one vehicle passed by. 100° official high temp in both Palm Springs and Borrego Springs today.
Tuesday: Sunrise 6:26a, 64°. Spahgetti can from last night's dinner is gone. Found it a couple hundred feet east. Perhaps a kit fox carried it off. Depart camp 7:30a and drive to Pegleg. Janice and friend Sylvia riding eastbound on S22. Ride S22 to Palo Verde wash and back. Tried to cache up with Jancie and friend but they were too fast for me. 14.4 miles taking 1 hour 3 minutes. Center Market for beer/ice. Had planned to stop at library but doesn't open until noon on Tuesday so head for south park early. Bow Willow at 11:45a. Sardines and pickles for lunch. Campground vacant except one guy with a nice pickup camper rig and his dog arrived before i left. Egg Mtn 12:30p, 96°. Canyon Sin Nombre and call Wen. Can see Toro Pk but not San Jacinto as i thought. Arrive Carrizo Valley site 1:45p. 81 miles today. 94° at 3p with light breeze. Very nice. Sunset north of canyon 6:09p. Very little traffic on S2 and no one drove by camp. Left a beer offering at my ocotillo. Mac and cheese with Spam for dinner. Meh. Last night's canned spaghetti was better. 78° at 8p. Went to sleep early. Kai flies to Berlin today.
Wednesday: Slept straight through the night. Sunrise 6:20a. Weather changed a bit overnight with some clouds and cooler temps in morning. Depart camp 7:10a and drive home via Imperial Valley route. Gas $4.49 and coffee at Circle-K in Westmorland. Home at 10:10a. 140 miles today, 334 trip total.

Ella Wash site at 9:45a. Also clean with no trash. Drive short way up Coachwhip wash. About 15 campers at Pegleg. Henderson Canyon Road wildflowers pretty good but didn't stop. Coyote Canyon to first crossing and there is flowing water. 5 cars parked at Desert Garden. Christmas Circle at 11:15a for sardine lunch. Breezy but otherwise a very nice day. Stop at Fonts Wash on way out but too windy so just drive home. Home at 1:20p, 180 miles today.
